Marko Ida Wahlström is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is shaped by decades of international environmental and humanitarian engagement.

Before focusing fully on art, Wahlström worked globally in areas of climate protection, wildlife conservation, and human rights, participating in direct actions, field operations, and crisis zones across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

These experiences — including time at sea, in conflict regions, and within activist networks — continue to inform a practice that explores tension, survival, and the relationship between humans, systems, and the natural world.Following the global shift during the COVID-19 pandemic, Wahlström returned intensively to visual art, producing a large body of drawings that evolved into installations and exhibitions.

Since 2020, he has held multiple exhibitions in Finland and expanded his practice into digital and interactive media.His current work combines visual art, sound, and game development, creating immersive environments that bridge traditional artistic expression with interactive systems.

In 2025, he received recognition for a multidisciplinary digital art and game project integrating architecture, music, and visual design.Wahlström is an active member of art and cultural communities and continues to develop work across physical and digital mediums.
